Welcome to IMASUS: A European Project for Sustainable Fashion

The fashion and textile industry is undergoing a long-overdue transformation. Faced with mounting environmental and social challenges, the sector is rethinking its materials, methods, and mindsets. It is within this context that IMASUS—Imagineering Sustainable Fashion—emerges as a forward-looking initiative funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ programme. IMASUS aims to equip fashion professionals, educators, and learners with the tools, knowledge, and community needed to make sustainable practices not only viable but central to the industry’s future.

Over the next two years, IMASUS will bring together scientific research, creative innovation, and vocational training to build a more responsible fashion ecosystem. Through hands-on workshops, an open-access material directory, and a collaborative toolkit, we will explore the potential of sustainable materials and empower the next generation of fashion practitioners. The project will be rooted in a rich network of activities, including co-creation events in Greece, Italy, and Spain, and the development of digital resources accessible across Europe and beyond.

IMASUS is led by a passionate consortium of organizations committed to sustainability and education. The Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) brings scientific excellence in materials science; Lottozero in Italy contributes deep experience in textiles and fashion design education; ECHN in Greece leads communication and engagement through its expansive creative hubs network; and we at Munkun, based in Spain, are responsible for developing digital tools and multimedia content. Together, we are excited to launch this journey toward a more ethical and imaginative future in fashion.
